Jo was a regular learner at Stoke Lodge and was greatly loved by both staff and fellow learners.
Throughout her time with us, Jo embraced a wide range of courses, always looking for new ways to explore and develop her creative talents. She took immense pride in the artwork she created at Stoke Lodge.
We always knew when Jo was in the building. She would make time to pop into the office to chat with staff, sharing updates on her latest projects, how her work was progressing, and what was happening in her life. She brought a wonderful energy wherever she went, always full of positivity, enthusiasm, and excitement about the things she was doing.
Jo also shared her knowledge and experience by delivering Deaf awareness training for staff, helping us to better support Deaf learners and deepen our understanding.
We were delighted to showcase Jo's artwork in our learner exhibitions over the years. Her work was vibrant, full of colour and life, and often reflected her love of animals and the natural world, both of which were important sources of inspiration for her creativity. Jo was always eager to learn and experiment with new techniques, most recently exploring etching and printmaking.
Jo was a much-valued member of the Adult Learning community at Stoke Lodge, and we feel privileged to have been part of her creative journey.
She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her. We will remember her smile, her kindness, her sense of humour, her love of art and learning, and the many stories she shared with us. Her warmth and enthusiasm left a lasting impression on our community and will not be forgotten.
